Bountiful Baskets

Have you discovered Bountiful Baskets yet?
This was my 2nd week and both times I have absolutely loved the experience.

A produce co-op where $15 gets you 2 prefilled baskets of delicious fruits and veggies.
Here is there website.
www.bountifulbaskets.org
Don't let their pathetic website throw you off.
You can go here to see if their is a drop off near you.

This weeks loot included

1 pineapple
1 cantaloupe
1 small watermelon
7 bananas
10 green apples
5 ears of corn
4 meat tomatoes
1 head of iceberg
2 bunches of celery
2 heads of broccoli
7 nectarines
1 peach
20-30 brussel sprouts

Plus it is a fun experience getting out with other members of your community who are trying to save money and provide healthy foods for their families.
The Co-op is run completely non profit and claim that yuo save up to $35 a week by being a part of their organization.
I am not sure if I save that much, but I do agree it was a great deal.
I am pushing fruits and veggies for our meals and snacks but it is to be determined if we will be able to eat all of this produce before next weeks pick up.

  2. I love Bountiful Baskets! It is just the two of us, so we only order 1-2x/month, and I agree that the estimated savings is high, but it is fun and has us eating more and a larger variety of produce than we would otherwise.
